Notes on the official list

  • The State Board of Elections certified the content and arrangement of the general-election ballots on August 31, 2026. We read the governor and U.S. House contests on all 24 certified county ballots, and each one matches the State Board’s candidate list (last updated October 16, 2026) name for name and party for party.
  • Not listed here because their names are not printed on the ballot. Write-in candidates: Edward Shlikas (District 1), Robert L. Coffman (District 3), Mildred Marie Hall (District 5). Withdrawn: Jonathan Burruss (District 5, withdrew 02/19/2026), Hajra Kirmani (District 6, withdrew 10/17/2025), Chris Hyser (District 6, withdrew 10/20/2025). Petition candidates the list marks "Failed to Submit Required Number of Signatures": Jonathan Burruss (District 5, marked 08/11/2026), Brian S. Jordan (District 5, marked 08/11/2026).
  • The governor and lieutenant governor are elected together, and the ballot prints each pair together. We list the candidate for governor; the pairs as printed are: Wes Moore and Aruna Miller (Democratic); Dan Cox and Rob Krop (Republican); Andy Ellis and Owen Silverman Andrews (Green); Cathy White and Cathy Permut (Working Class Party).
  • The candidate list does not mark incumbents. Wes Moore is marked as the incumbent governor because the governor’s official website identifies him as the current governor; no House candidate is marked.
  • The list gives most campaign websites without http:// or https://, so we link them with https://. Two listed websites did not load when we checked on October 27, 2026, so we do not link them: Scott M. Collier: www.scottcollierforcongress.org (the address could not be found); Sarah Elfreth: www.elfrethformaryland.com (the secure connection failed: invalid security certificate).
  • Maryland has no U.S. Senate race in 2026, and the certified ballots show no special election for a U.S. House seat.
