On the ballot

Why this matters: Every voter in New York votes in the statewide races. For the U.S. House, you vote only in the district where you live.

27 races for Congress and governor on New York's November 3, 2026 ballot, from the state's official list of candidates.1 Your ballot will also have state and local races that this guide doesn't cover yet. To compare a race's candidates side by side, open the race, or see New York's 2026 election page.

Notes on the official list

  • New York has no U.S. Senate race on the November 3, 2026 ballot; the State Board's certification lists no Senate office and no special congressional election.
  • The governor and lieutenant governor are elected together on one ticket. This file lists the governor candidates only; the certification pairs Kathy C. Hochul with Adrienne E. Adams and Bruce A. Blakeman with Todd Hood.
  • Names are spelled exactly as the certification prints them, including "Nicholas J. Lalota" (CD 1) and "Michael J. LiPetri Jr" without a period (CD 3).
  • In CD 12, Karen Ortiz runs on an independent ballot line that the certification also names "Karen Ortiz"; it is recorded as printed.
  • The certification does not mark incumbents, so House incumbency is left to be derived separately.
  • Party lines with no nominee in a race (for example, the Working Families line in CD 1) are left out, because no candidate appears on them.
