Accessibility Statement

SuperCitizen, Inc. (“SuperCitizen”) believes the tools and knowledge of citizenship should be available to everyone. We work to make supercitizen.org perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with disabilities, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build — not a one-time project.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, auditory, cognitive, and neurological differences. Our public pages are designed and reviewed against the Level AA success criteria, and we treat any gap we find as a bug to fix.

• Meeting WCAG 2.2 AA color-contrast ratios for text and interactive controls.
• Semantic HTML with a single main landmark, ordered headings, and labelled form fields.
• A visible keyboard-focus indicator on every interactive element, and a “skip to main content” link.
• Full keyboard operability — you can reach and use the site without a mouse.
• Respecting your reduce motion system setting.
• Text that reflows and stays readable when zoomed or viewed on small screens.

Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain. In particular:

• Third-party components. Payment forms and buttons provided by our processors (for example, Stripe and PayPal on our donate pages) are rendered by those vendors, and their accessibility is partly outside our control. If one blocks you, you can always donate by contacting us directly.
• User-provided content. Profile images supplied by a sign-in provider are treated as decorative and paired with a visible name.

If you contact us about an accessibility barrier and aren’t satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter. In the United States, complaints about the accessibility of a 501(c)(3) organization’s services may be raised with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division.
