Notes on the official list

  • The Office of Elections' 2026 Candidate Report marks each filer's status; we include only candidates marked "In General" (the report says statuses are updated after each election to show the election in which a candidate appears). Every other filer for these offices is marked "In Primary" (did not advance) or "Issued" (papers issued but not filed). Neither the report nor the voter guide uses the word "certified", so certified is false. The Office's general-election voter guide lists exactly the same candidates.
  • Party labels: the candidate report prints parties in capitals (DEMOCRATIC, REPUBLICAN, GREEN, NONPARTISAN) and the voter guide prints letter codes with a legend (D, R, G, N); we use the report's wording in normal capitalization.
  • Hawaii has no US Senate race on the November 3, 2026 ballot; the Office's general-election voter guide has no US Senate section.
  • Josh Green is marked as the incumbent governor because the Hawaii governor's official website identifies him as the current governor; the candidate list itself does not mark incumbents.
