Why this matters: Every voter in South Carolina votes in the statewide races. For the U.S. House, you vote only in the district where you live.
9 races for Congress and governor on South Carolina's November 3, 2026 ballot, from the state's official list of candidates.1 Your ballot will also have state and local races that this guide doesn't cover yet. To compare a race's candidates side by side, open the race, or see South Carolina's 2026 election page.

Notes on the official list
- The State Election Commission’s Candidate Tracking System lists everyone who filed for this election, each with a current status; we list only candidates whose status is "Active". The system does not describe the list as certified or final.
- U.S. Senate: the list marks Lindsey Graham, the Republican nominee chosen in the June 9 primary, as "Deceased After Primary" (status date July 13, 2026). The State Election Commission then held a special Republican filing period and primary to choose a new nominee for the November 3 ballot, and the list shows Darline Graham as the active Republican candidate (status date August 26, 2026). This is the regular election for the seat; the Candidate Tracking System shows no separate special election for it on November 3, 2026.
- Two House candidates are marked "Withdrew" and are not listed here: Andy Kaplan (Forward Party, District 5, status date September 3, 2026) and Joseph Oddo (Alliance, District 6, status date September 1, 2026). The State Election Commission’s withdrawal policy removes a name from the ballot only when the withdrawal arrives by 5:00 p.m. on the 60th day before the election, which is September 4, 2026 for this election. Both dates are before that deadline, but we have not seen a printed ballot to confirm the names were removed.
- Also not listed: Margo Ellis (Alliance, District 1), marked "Not Certified for General" (status date August 14, 2026), and Gary Votour (Workers, governor), marked "Withdrew After Primary" (status date June 29, 2026).
- The governor and lieutenant governor are elected together. We list the candidate for governor; the running mates, as the list shows them, are: Michael Addison with Candace Brewer (United Citizens); Walid Hakim with Arnold E Karr (Green); Jermaine Johnson with Sam Skardon (Democratic); Alan Wilson with Mike Reichenbach (Republican).
- The list does not mark incumbents, so we do not mark any candidate here as the incumbent.
- An independent second check confirmed most South Carolina candidates against county election offices' lists, but could not re-open the State Election Commission's candidate search, which only shows results after a search form is submitted. These candidates rest on that search alone so far: Dayna Alane Smith (District 2), Wes Climer (District 5), and Russell Fry and John Gregory Vincent (District 7).
