Research draft. We gathered this from official sources on October 27, 2026: election offices, state laws and court records, each linked to its source. Separate reviewers checked a random sample of 48 facts from the ballot-measure research against the cited sources and found no errors. The rest hasn't been reviewed fact by fact yet, so check the linked source before relying on anything here.

§2Where this list comes from

The list above comes from these official sources. Researched October 27, 2026.

None of them calls the list certified or final, so we don’t either.

§3Notes on the research

What the research couldn’t find or confirm, in its own plain words. Nothing is left out silently.

  • The Wisconsin Elections Commission's website (elections.wi.gov) answered every request with a browser check, so we stopped using it and could not read the Commission's own list or its certification of the referendum questions to county clerks.
  • The list of statewide questions comes from the Kenosha County Clerk's Type A Notice of Referendum Election for November 3, 2026 (dated October 6, 2026, posted on the Village of Somers website), which lists exactly three questions and names the joint resolutions behind them; the enrolled joint resolutions on the Legislature's site confirm each question's wording and the November 2026 election. The notice does not say the list is certified or final, so the list is not marked certified.
  • Each joint resolution labels its own ballot question as Question 1; the numbers used here (1 Partial veto, 2 places of worship, 3 governmental entity discrimination) are the order printed in the county's Type A notice.
  • The Legislative Reference Bureau's Current Joint Resolutions page lists 2025 Enrolled Joint Resolutions 10 and 11 but not Enrolled Joint Resolution 14 (the partial veto amendment); the Legislature's history page for 2025 Senate Joint Resolution 116 shows it was published as Enrolled Joint Resolution 14 on June 23, 2026, and its enrolled text is on the Legislature's site.
  • Proposed advisory referendum resolutions on campaign finance (2025 Assembly Joint Resolution 42 and Senate Joint Resolution 38) appear in the Legislature's records, but they are not on the county's Type A notice, so they are not listed. Questions on the April 7, 2026 spring election ballot were not researched.
