§3Notes on the research
What the research couldn’t find or confirm, in its own plain words. Nothing is left out silently.
- The Secretary of State's September 11, 2026 certification release names only the three initiative measures; the legislative amendment (LR19CA) is listed separately on the Secretary of State's 2026 elections page. We took its printed designation, Proposed Amendment No. 1, from Douglas County's official countywide sample ballot, not from a state list.
- An initiative titled Protect Nebraskans' Initiative & Referendum Powers is not on the ballot: the Secretary of State withheld it on August 31, 2026 as violating the single-subject rule, and the Nebraska Supreme Court denied its sponsors' request to order it onto the ballot on September 10, 2026 (State ex rel. Davis v. Evnen, 322 Neb. 256, on the Nebraska Supreme Court opinions page).
- The Secretary of State's titles for the initiatives are copied as listed; Fairness for Girls is the title the Secretary of State uses for Initiative Measure 442.
- Our web search budget ran out while researching this state, so we could not search for news of other pending court challenges; we checked the Nebraska Supreme Court's opinions page directly and found none affecting the other measures.
