Research draftList not marked certified

Research draft. We gathered this from official sources on October 27, 2026: election offices, state laws and court records, each linked to its source. Separate reviewers checked a random sample of 48 facts from the ballot-measure research against the cited sources and found no errors. The rest hasn't been reviewed fact by fact yet, so check the linked source before relying on anything here.

§2Where this list comes from

The list above comes from these official sources. Researched October 27, 2026.

None of them calls the list certified or final, so we don’t either.

§3Notes on the research

What the research couldn’t find or confirm, in its own plain words. Nothing is left out silently.

  • The Secretary of State's general election page (https://sos.iowa.gov/general-election) answered with a Cloudflare human-verification check, so we stopped using sos.iowa.gov and could not read the state's own list of measures. The list here comes from the Iowa Legislature's Proposed Constitutional Amendment page and two county auditors' official ballot documents (Cerro Gordo and Scott counties), which each show only Constitutional Amendment 1.
  • None of the sources we read calls the list of measures certified or final, so the list is not marked certified.
  • The Legislature's page also lists Senate Joint Resolution 9 (2025), on the right of an accused person to confront children and other witnesses. It has passed only one General Assembly and is being published ahead of the 2026 election for the next General Assembly to consider, so it is not on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
  • The Iowa Constitution's periodic question on calling a constitutional convention comes every tenth year starting in 1970, so it is not on the 2026 ballot (Iowa Const. art. X, § 3).
  • The Legislature's short title for the amendment (Requirements Certain State Tax Law Changes) is not printed on the ballot, so no title is given here; the ballot shows a summary and the full text under the number 1.
