§3Notes on the official list
- U.S. Senate: Graham C. Platner, the Democratic nominee from the June 9 primary, withdrew on July 10, 2026. The state's withdrawals and replacements list records Troy D. Jackson as the replacement nominee (received July 27, 2026), and only Jackson is printed on the ballot.
- The Secretary of State's candidate list shortens party names to 'D' and 'R'. We wrote them out as 'Democratic' and 'Republican', which is how the state's sample ballots print them. We could only check the printed labels on the sample ballots for the Senate race and District 2.
- Every federal race has exactly two candidates printed on the ballot. Voters can still rank them, and the state also lists declared write-in candidates for U.S. Senate and District 2, so the count can involve more than two names.
- The governor's race uses plurality, not ranked-choice: the state says ranked-choice voting applies only to federal offices in the general election.
- The Secretary of State's page dates the general election candidate list July 27, 2026, the deadline for replacement candidates, and its file name says FINAL, but neither the list nor the page says it is certified, and the page notes that replacements may still be added — so we mark it as not certified.
