§2Notes on the official list

  • The Indiana Election Division's posted general-election candidate list (generated September 22, 2026) does not say it is certified. The Division's August 2026 newsletter says it would certify the official candidate list to the county election boards by August 21, 2026, and its September 2026 newsletter says ballots were considered final as of September 4, 2026, apart from corrections or filled vacancies. The certification itself is not posted, so this file is marked as not certified.
  • The Division's August 2026 newsletter cautions that spellings on its website candidate list may differ from the certification sent to counties, which uses the ballot names the candidates supplied. Names here are as the website list prints them; we could not check them against the certified ballot names.
  • The list also includes five declared write-in candidates for U.S. House (in the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 9th Districts). Write-in candidates are not printed on the ballot, so they are left out.
  • Indiana has no U.S. Senate or governor race on the November 3, 2026 ballot; the list's federal section has only the nine U.S. House races, and none is a special election.
  • The list does not mark incumbents, so this file does not record incumbency for any candidate.
