§3Notes on the official list
- We could not find a single certified candidate list on the Secretary of the State's website, so this file is marked not certified. It is built from the official sample ballots the Secretary of the State posted for all 169 towns (page updated October 21, 2026) and checked against the candidate appendix of the Secretary's 2026 Voter Guide. Every town's ballot showed the same candidates and party lines for governor and for its congressional district.
- Connecticut has no U.S. Senate race on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
- The governor and lieutenant governor are elected together and printed as one entry ("Ned Lamont and Susan Bysiewicz"; "Ryan Fazio and Matt Corey"). This file lists the governor candidates only.
- A few towns print a name slightly differently. In District 1, Barkhamsted and Hartford print "Mary L Sanders" (no period) where most towns print "Mary L. Sanders". In District 3, North Haven prints "Rosa DeLauro" and Naugatuck prints "Rosa L DeLauro" where most towns print "Rosa L. DeLauro". We used the spelling most towns print.
- Some ballot names are fuller than in the Voter Guide (for example, the guide lists George Austin, Michael Goldstein, Mary Sanders and Rosa DeLauro). We used the names as printed on the ballots.
- The ballots do not mark incumbents, so House incumbency is left to be derived separately.
